Give the Gift of Sight
Normal Vision
The normal eye sees these two boys at the playground.
Vision with Macular Degeneration
A person with macular degeneration sees something like this. Because of the lost central vision, the boys' faces disappear. This is why a person with AMD sometimes doesn't recognize their friend of 30 years. This is also why it is so hard to read or drive.
Doris Roberts at the AMD.org Booth at AARP
Doris Roberts, from "Everybody Loves Raymond" came with us to the AARP Annual Event and Expo. She entertained a large audience and came back to the booth to sign autographs for delighted fans. Her presence helped us to reach hundreds more people at risk for age-related macular degeneration.
