Dear friends and supporters of Gift the gift of education - sponsor an orphaned child.  If all of you who have  been supporting this project could visit these children, you would  really know that your hard earned  money is doing much. This time the children have acquired much especially  as we gained partnership with the International Bon - Germany and they supplied two teachers to re-inforce our teaching staff. Original volunteers  Uk has also continued sending us volunteers to teach and the children are really gaining much knolwedge from your surppot.  They have most of their educational needs just because you  were there to help.  Thank you immensely

ActivitiesWe organized a programme where some of them gave terstimonies on how  SeRep and Global giving have really given them hope for life.  One of the attached pictures   is for the one that went to Yaounde to talk on HIV AIDS and how they have  wiped out stigma in their school through our stready and sustainable lessons.

Also attachech is a picture of  one of our volunteers seriously teaching  in class.  Another one is a group picture in the assembly during moral lessons where we teach them much on various ways to avoid Sexually transmited deases and above HIV.  We have also  done alot to the trainees coaching them to  carry on with abstence if atall they could be able to control themselves.

Infact the project is one of the best projects we are enjoying as we see children studying, growing, gaining emplpoyeent and even becoming responsible.

We really want to say that this project is ongoing and at this moment, we have identified more  of these children to admite in September. I am glad to annoucne that formally we did not have space but we have been able to construct three other class rooms, an office, a computer lab and LIbrary. Hopefully  by next years all will be set for use.

Thank you very much for giving a a perant  gift  which remains in  these children  for life.  Let me call you attention on the fact that these chidren had lost hope and now they are happy and more are still in villages  still waiting for our support  in the aspect of being admitted in September 2014.

Any support  from now will be able to sew new Uniforms,  buy other school needs for the new ones and then support some of the children who are already receiving training as they will be going to their news classes  after  promotional examins next month..

Giving a gift of education is really a  gift for life.   Let your hard earned money do something in  someones life esepcially this class of children.

We promise to keep helping them and most especially with your support. We pray that you  should really be blessed and also share your cause with others.

It is my pleasure to report again on what is happening with the orphaned children who are opened for any one to support just so that they can have education.  The current students benefiting from this project are doing excellently well with studies.

Our volunteers continue to gain experience by teaching them in our school.  First term ended well with so many of them improved in their academics.  Before the Christmas break, we organized a Christmas Party where all of them were brought together  for moral instruction, guidance counselling, HIV Talks and socials on the 20th Dec. 2013.

We brought in a Musical set, and prepared them to show their talents by way of getting them into groups to dance music of their choice.  We gave them Christmas presents, and fed them  very well.

Our current volunteers enjoyed the programm as they all participated both in teaching during the term, marking of the exams and  above all participating in the end of term and Christmas socials.

I am  also glad to report that Classes are going  on steadily despite the hardship of paying the teachers.  classes resumed on the 6th of January and all is going on well.

We really need support to help these children already enroled get on with qualified teachers and effective teaching  along side with their essential educational needs as is being supported by this project.

More children continue to indicate and we are providing space in the on going school building project to increase the number of our student  for next  academic year.

Helping this project entirely is giving a gift of education to an orphaned child. We believe that helping a child to recieve  education is one gift he best gift to a child especially the needy.

Thanks to all those who have been supporting these children in one way or the order.

Here below are pictrure of the students, during the Christmass party.

Yes, time has come again for another progress report regarding the Give the Gift of Education-sponsor and Orphan children in Cameroon. Primarily I have the honour to thank all those who have made this project lively waxing well progressively.

From the pictures attached no one can doubt about the happiness and hope that has so been reinstated on these children who must have lost hope. They have been receiving their lessons very well, and with the help and continutes presence of the volunteers and our local staff that have had enough capacity building on how to take catre or orphaned children, a lot has been achieved.

We were able to make new benches and they have been put into use by those who did not even have spave to sit in the classes that have provided.

The German volunteers who came in to teach for one year are also doing the best in the teaching of English and Mathematics.

I am glad to reassure those who supported this project in the past to rest assured that their hard earned money has gone a long way to serve the purpose for which it was designated and now there are some children wearing smiling faces because of them.

For those who would like to support this project, I call on you to do so without any doubt and can contact us directly for any other information or details about the project.

May God the almighty bless all who have been supporting this project and also direct those who wish to extend their charitable hands to the less privildeged to us.

Progress Report on Give the Gift of Education - sponsor an orphaned child in Cameroon

Some OVCs received gifts for good performance
Some OVCs received gifts for good performance

After our last report, we did not relent our efforts in the intensification of ensuring quality education as a special gift to orphaned children under our care and training. We were able to conduct the end of year assessment in all classes including the soft ware and Hard ware training sections. The final year students wrote their G.C.E.examinations and the result have just been release with a very good % passed. We participated in the National day march pass and OVCs were very satisfied as they participated along side with other schools. Here under, is a group picture which was taken after the march pass. At the end of the end of year examinations, there was another special examination which which was set by the NSo Language Organization and the OVcs did excellently well. The parcels shown were given by the Ministry of Basic education in Yaounde through the Nso Language Organization. The picture shows the students during the end of year prize award. We gave prized to students in all disciplines. We are glad to report that the support to Give a Gift of Education was able to provide basic educational needs and even went as far as helping some who had ill health problems. More children have been identified and admission is currently going one. The Number of OVcs is expected to to be increased because we were able to complete new class rooms and looking forward to providing more Benches. Giving a gift of Education to a child is a permanent gift. We are now working on building another section of the school which will enable us to have a good Computer lab for these children. Part of this building will be housing our volunteers who come out from Original volunteers and International Bond and teach the children. We have the honour to thank all those who have been supporting the project through out the year. Another academic year is soon coming and we will set the ball rolling on buying of Uniforms, school books, shoes, and other educational needs for the must vulnerable ones already identified and admitted so far. May God continue to bless you as you support these children so that they can have hope and equally become responsible in future. We thank the Globalgiving team for the wonderful job they are doing just to see that all the donations are transferred for this purpose. We will continue to do our best in providing quality education to these children.

Progress Report on Give the Gift of Education - sponsor an orphaned child in Cameroon

Tania our Volunteer teaching the OVCs English
Tania our Volunteer teaching the OVCs English

Another time has come for us to report on this project. We really lack words to express our sincere thanks to all the donors and those who continued to stay by us in this project during since our last report.

All the children who have been considered as beneficiaries to this project have finally received a one year study period and are  currently writing their promotion examination.

We are glad to report here that our volunteers especially from the original volunteers in UK are doing a wonderful job. The have done much in the teaching of English, Mathematics and other interactive classes.

Since we have got enough space by completing the first phase of the school construction project, we now intend to keep on with the training and also open up more room for more of such children to gain knowledge and become responsible in future.

The project remain unique in that we have fought the stigmatization of orphaned children to a very high level and have equally restored hope on them through this project.

We pray that those who supported these children in the past should not forget that it is an on going project and children have to continue to receive their education for at least four  to six years.

The attached pictures shows the commitment of the volunteers in the teaching of English lessons.

We  hope to keep on while giving a lot of thanks to the GlobalGiving teams  of the UK and US.

Accept our sincere thanks for helping these class of children to gain education as a permanent gift.

May God continue to bless you all as we get on with the project together.
