Because of your generous financial contributions throughout the year 2012, the Good Samaritan Children Home (GSCH) has been able to purchase school shoes for more than 200 children. In the year that just ended (2012), FAF organization was able to raise and send $10,500 to the GSCH. These funds have been used to meet the educational needs of the children including tuition fee, buying school uniforms, among other needs. To these efforts, FAF organization, Mercy Thuo (founder and director of the Home), and the children wish to thank everyone who responded to their plight.
We can’t reiterate enough how much the teenagers appreciate a pair of school shoes as it translates to a higher sense of self esteem and shelves them from embarrassment and scolding from their peers.
As we start this New Year, 2013, it is important to keep in mind the fact that GSCH continues to receive more vulnerable children to their “family”. At the same time, several children who reside at the home will be graduating from primary schools and transitioning to high schools later this month. Others will be transitioning from high schools to college. These transitions imply more need for educational requirements including but not limited to tuition fee, school uniforms, school shoes, textbooks, and writing materials. Given these realities, FAF Organization and Mercy Thuo trusts that you will continue supporting these little angels as they work hard in school and look forward to a better future amid their current life uncertainties. Contributions to FAF projects can be made throughout the year on Global Giving Organization. All that is required to make a contribution online is visit their website: www.globalgiving.org and choose project Numbers, 7377 (for buying school shoes) or, 6163 (for tuition fee) and follow instructions. We forever remain thankful for your partnership and generosity
