We are so very gratful for all our supporters and donors over the years, and for Global Giving for providing a platform for us to expand upon our fundraising for our organization.
This past year was a very bumpy sea for us to navigate. The troubled economy put a dent in our regular donation income stream, and then we had to plan for a move of location for our operations.
How does one raise over $250,000 in a troubled economy? How does one face the fear that all the animals depending upon us to continue to care for them after we have pulled them from the depths of hell?
We rolled up our sleeves, we got creative and we begged. Fortunately, there are many caring people out there and as they heard of our need, they gave. We have not raised the entire amount, but we raised enough to keep us going and to get into the property.
We have moved into our new facility and our rescues are safe. There is so much more to be done to finish the facility, which means we have to raise more money, but again, we can do it. We will continue to look for creative ways to fund our project, look for matching grants for donations, look for ways to get our story out there, and yes...beg.
The Give Me Shelter project raised just over $10,000, which included $2,300 of matching grants from Global Giving, we thank everyone who helped us reach this goal, now let's move forward and keep it going!
