Summary
This project will build two classrooms and a library in Oyugis Nyanza Kenya , providing a quality education & supply of books and critical literacy support services to 396 orphans traumatized HIV/AIDS
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
There are currently more than 4000 HIV/AIDS Orphans living in abject poverty and doubles as the head of household in Oyugis-Kenya. Africa's Orphaned and vulnerable generation: Children affected by AIDS are an update of 2003 report Africa's orphaned generation. The affected children feel isolated,rejected,hopeless,embarrassed,and awkward hence withdrawn from people who most need care their care, love and friendship. The 396 orphans will be the direct beneficiary of the project.
How will this project solve this problem?
The orphanage provides Shelter,education,food and health care to starving children. The children's guardians are trained in nutrition and child care. The guardians are also taught to share their new knowledge with their neighbours.
Potential Long Term Impact
The project will educate 396 HIV/AIDS Orphans allowing them to rise out of poverty, which will provide for their families' health and well-being.
