Bess Palmisciano - Founder and Executive Director
Bess Palmisciano is a lawyer who has worked in private practice in New Hampshire. During a trip to Niger, West Africa in 2000, Bess was taken with the Tuareg people and their desert land.
She would return several times, digging deep to learn about the intriguing cultures, harsh life, and dire needs of these nomadic people. Two years later, RAIN was born.
Marie Jasmine - Mentor President and Representative
Marie is a traditional Nigerien woman who is herself a mentor, and who has become president and respresentative of RAIN's mentors.
Mamane Bala - Literacy Teacher
Mamane is a Tuareg from northern Niger. He has been with RAIN since 2002 as an HIV/AIDS prevention trainer, and has served as the Literacy Teacher since 2007.
