This project aims to contribute to the strengthening of the leadership capabilities and the active participation of 160 young women, between the ages of 10 and 19 years old, most of them in displacement situation, Afro and early mothers, who come from marginalized schools, urban and rural areas, of the Colombian Caribbean region. Through training schools, advocacy, joint initiatives and amplifying the voices of girls and young women for change in their communities.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Young women are principally the ones who do not know their rights and their enforceability mechanisms, because of what, with this project, we aim to attack the ignorance that this group has of their own rights and the consequences that this has generated, such as little or null participation, low empowerment, insecurity and the fear in relation to the appropriation and demand of the fulfillment of their rights.
How will this project solve this problem?
This goal of this project is to strengthen the organizational and leadership skills that young women have for starring experiences of change within their communities, from a girl to girl and young women to young women focus, this will enable them to empower themselves and take autonomy of their lives, giving them the opportunity to participate and change their lives, setting an example for their communities and other girls in similar conditions.
Potential Long Term Impact
This project will help 160 young women of the Colombian Caribbean region living in vulnerability conditions to recognize themselves as empowered, free and participative rights subjects' females, who generate proposals and change projects in their homes and communities, contributing to the raising of a World in peace.
