Riverkids staff brings the Get Ready Girls to visit hair salons, tailor shops and hotels to learn more about their future job prospects.
Craft classes to perfect their handwork
Craft classes like this help the girls to co-ordinate their motor-skills and perfect their handwork.
Concentrating deeply in the intricate needle work
Learning crochet is one of the ways to sharpen their handicraft skills and gives them a great sense of what they can achieve with their own creativity.
Choir! Khmer and English songs are sung weekly.
Choir brings the girls together, helps them integrate socially and promotes co-ordination, self-confidence and discipline.
Getting the correct information communicated
We collaborate with our NGO partners in Cambodia to conduct workshops such as proper communication, family values and life purposes.
Learning basic English to go further
With a standard curriculum, Riverkids volunteers and staff teach the girls basic English so they can catch up with their peers in school and converse confidently.
Yoga to relax and recharge
Yoga helps the teenage girls to channel their negative feelings away, manage their emotional challenges and resolve conflicts peacefully instead of resorting to violence and addiction.
Community Service at the community and our centres
Besides studying, the girls are taught on hygiene, health, responsibility and how to keep the house clean and neat.
