Thinking Ahead

As the 2013-2014 academic year approaches, we continue to focus our attention on enrollment and boosting our financial aid support program. One of our goals at the German American School of Portland is to live our mission statement – we would like to do just that by broadening our school community to include a more diverse group of families. This program directly benefits those families who value a bilingual education for their child, but may be burdened by financial challenges.
We look to generous donors to help make the childcare and a bilingual education GSP provides a reality for these prospective students and their families. As a testament to the amazing program we offer, please take a moment to watch an introductory video to learn more about our curriculum, our mission as a school, and our wonderful, but every growing community.

Spring is Re-Enrollment Time

As the 2012-13 academic year draws to a close, we are focussing our attention on enrollment for 2013-14. A new and exciting update is that for the new school year, financial aid is being made available to preschool students for the very first time.
The school recognizes how expensive high-quality childcare can be and the school board has voted to open the financial aid program to preschool students to open our doors to families who could not or would not otherwise consider GSP a viable option for their child's education.
Making the program available to preschool students is the correct decision. However, the program expenses for such an excellent school remain high and we are dependent on our generous donors to help bridge the gap. While we strive to maintain the balance between finance and programming, we look to you to help us.
Every little bit (or large chunk!) helps. Please consider supporting these children in their pursuit of our global brand of education.

Your Support Opens Doors

Dear GSP Supporters,
Thanks to your generous donations, we’ve raised nearly $11,000 to support our financial aid program during the 2012-2013 school year. Your donations contribute to a vital program that opens the doors to our school even wider than ever. The financial aid support program is a crucial one for GSP, giving families that may not otherwise be able to send their children to GSP the opportunity to overcome financial challenges. The financial aid committee will be meeting again soon to review family requests and we hope to be able to meet everyone’s needs. If you have not yet supported GSP this school year, your contribution now will directly support this program.
