Our purpose built respite holiday house opened in 2011 and is a place of love, laughter, noise and fun. We welcome 100 families for holidays and 500 individuals on day visits each year. We welcome families with seriously-ill chidlren from all over the UK. Our house has two 4 bedroomed self-catering apartments and facilities include a hydro-therapy pool, a sensory room, a music room and an art room. Outside we have a sensory garde, an adventure playground and a mini golf course.
The demands of living with a seriously ill child have a huge impact on the whole family. This often results a dramatic loss in family time due to frequent visits and admissions to hospital/hospices. Juggling work commitments with caring for a sick child may lead to financial loss, increasing stress and fatigue in what is already an extremely challenging situation. These families need time away together, but circumstances prevent this as booking normal holidays is virtually impossible.
The Bluebells provides respite holidays for families, completely free of charge enabling them to spend precious time together in privacy, yet within a safe environment. Our breaks offer time and space away for treatment, hospitals and hospices. The Bluebells is fully booked for the remainder of 2012 and well into 2013 with a waiting list of families wanting to stay with us.
Will provide 100 families a year the opportunity to enjoy a respite break giving them the opportunity to build happier, stronger families and create precious memories. Will allow 500 day visitors the opportunity to enjoy our facilities including the hydro therapy pool and art, drama and music therapy sessions. We build a long-term relationship with our families and they know we will be there to support them in whatever way we can.
