Global health experts at PATH are advancing lifesaving health technologies for use in low-resource communities around the world. Work on these important technologies can stall while waiting for funding to fuel their development. The Fund for Health Technologies keeps these innovations moving through the product development process and into widespread use in developing countries.
In developing countries, the difference between sickness and health for millions of families can be as simple as a sterile needle and syringe, or an accurate diagnostic test. Unfortunately, these technologies are not always appropriate or affordable. The challenge of improving the health outcomes of millions of people through technologies comes not from a lack of solutions, but rather from a lack of targeted funding for technologies tailored for people in developing countries.
Support will help our scientists, engineers, and field experts carry out important research; build prototypes; test and refine ideas; and advance lasting, user-designed innovations that respond to unmet needs in areas such as diagnostics; vaccines technologies; safe water; information systems; as well as reproductive, maternal, and neonatal health.
Lives saved! These important technologies can give families in the developing world a chance at long, healthy lives. PATH has a well-established record of developing solutions for the world's most challenging health problems; more than 25 of our technologies have been made available for use.
