Inspirational Effort

Map of INSPIRATIONAL EFFORT I am the wife of Samwuel Kakai of Mayungu Area Self Help Group which started 4 years ago. I wish to uphold the idea of Group formation. This is what has scared us. There are so many things we never thought we could ever get in life, including a motorbike, children schooling without a problem. In my husband's Group, where he is the chairperson, Cane cutting/plantin which is the main income generating activity, we just discovered that nothing is impossible. Our status has simply sky rocketed to a secure stronghold. Read more.

An Initiative That Has Worked Well

Map of AN INITIATIVE THAT HAS WORKED WELL My husband Mr Ambani who is the secretary of Shivakala Youth Group in Kakamega North District has some story to tell of has good it is to dwell together in unity. Ambani joined this group being a bodaboda operator with one bicycle in 2009. Currently he now has a motorbike. He gradually increased the bicycles from one to two then three, employing other youths who helped him to multiply greatly. This is because the Youth Group empowered his capacity through loaning. He get Ksh. 15,000 at first, later Ksh. 18,000 and lst year he was able to get 25,000 which he used together with other savings to buy a motorbike. Financial Empowerment

Map of Financial empowerment i never thought i would ever have something to do apart from being a house wife and this made me so much worried because i also wanted to have my own money as a woman instead of just depending on y husband. One time a friend of mine called me by phone and asked me to attend a meeting organized by NEEMA Women group.At that point is when i learnt the technology and technique of making fire less cookers and selling them. The idea was so good and i devoted my self in this income generating activity that has changed my life from just being a house wife to an economically rather financially independent woman. Read more.

Map of Famine More than four months many Kenyans are facing a great famine they dont have anything to eat with their children. Their kids cannot do to school because of lack of food. Some even feed on milk from goats because they dont have any option. Economic of our country also is high and they cannot manage to afford. Life become hard for them. Some of them even die because of hunger. But many Kenyans volunteer to help the needy people who are suffering from hunger and contribute for them and buy relief food and give them so that they can fight against famine in our nation. The people who started this programme were Safaricom, YU network, airtel and other banks in our country. Read more.

Being Raped In Rural Areas

Map of Being raped in rural areas It was last month when my mum sent me to the shop sat night .I went to the shop after buying all the items that i was taught to buy.suddenly 2 men apeared infront of me,they took me and raped me,After raping me they took all the items i was taught to buy .I just sleep there because i did not know what to do.i sleep their untill morning,After two hours 4 people pass beside me and asked me what is my problem they take me and helped me in many ways.After getting better i noticed that it was Uzima Foundation who helped me i prayed and thanked my all mighty. Life To Remember

Map of LIFE TO REMEMBER I was a time that I was born by my mother and father my father was a fisherman and my mother was a housemaid. When my give birth already she was affected by a disease called T.B saw my mother was know time to stay at home she disappointed by himself to another village I left with my father but know freedom was I given by my father. He left s blank spaces so I realised myself where i go. I respect my self to go to the neighbouring to ask for help.when I reached at the point I got a person who was a doctor to help me. That I was finishe my self K.C.P.E examination. So he gave some advice about my life. Know iam in form two know he steal gave me a good provider. I thank God for that. Because he continued helped me.
