Homeless individuals and families in the Burbank area can receive a sack lunch, M-F of most weeks at Burbank Temporary Aid Center (BTAC). Due to high demand, BTAC (18,000+ per year) often must purchase items to go into the lunches. Otherwise, some homeless would be turned away. Funds will be used to purchase healthful foods for the lunches.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Due to the rise in the number of homeless in Burbank, BTAC often runs out of sack lunches for the homeless. Often, this is the only meal they will have each day, so it is critical that BTAC can purchase food to provide additional lunches.
How will this project solve this problem?
Funds will allow BTAC to purchase items to create or complete sack lunches with healthful food options
Potential Long Term Impact
The homeless will have at least one healthful meal each day.
