Cambodian Children's House of Peace (CCHP) is a Local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered with the Royal Government of Cambodia No. 294/SorChorNor, dated 12 December 2008. CCHP is a residential home for 33 children between the ages of 10-18, and provides shelter, food, clothing, school and English language education, computer training, health care, recreation, arts, meditation and most other things that children need to grow and develop into productive citizens of their country.
Our children are from poor rural backgrounds. Most are orphans or have lost one parent. Their extended families have an average of $10 a month to support their entire family so can't afford to educate the children. Children and adults suffer from malnutrition and associated health problems. Malnourished, sick children can’t learn properly. We take in such children provide them with good housing, education, medical and dental treatment and a nutritious diet in a happy and safe environment.
Then only way out of this spiral of poverty is education. When children come to CCHP they are immediately given medical and dental treatment. We provide them with a healthy nutritious diet. One of our children has a residual digestive abnormality requiring a special diet. As soon as each child is fit enough they are enrolled in school which necessitates kitting them out with school supplies and uniforms. We are dedicated to educating our children. We also provide extra daily lessons at the Home.
The Cambodian Children's House of Peace will support these 33 children to help their entire families because when they are empowered to earn money they will look after their extended family as well as being better equipped to care for their own when the time comes. Education is the way out of poverty. We will educate our children to a better, healthier and happier future which they will use to nurture their children as well as looking after any surviving members of the previous generation.
I love CCHP. I get much food to eat. I read English now and I have a lot of fun with my friends. The best is volleyball. My life was sad now is happy. I want to be a computer expert. My dance is good
