Summary
The Moving Forward, Trauma Recovery project will aid in the recovery and personal development of children
affected by the skirmishes in Kenya's 2007 presidential
elections.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Without Programs like Moving Forward, Trauma Recovery, the majority of Kenyan youth and children who have been traumatized would be unable to participate in social activities. The Moving Forward, Trauma Recovery project will help in the recovery and personal development of children and youth affected by the 2007 post election skirmishes thus creating self-esteem, confidence and inclusion in all aspects of society.
How will this project solve this problem?
VAP's mentors work with children and youth, both boys and girls who have been affected and those not affected. Mentors develop a range of educative activities and games that help in Trauma Recovery amongst the affected youth.
Potential Long Term Impact
VAP through its Moving Forward, Trauma Recovery, aspires to empower the traumatized children and youth
to build back their self-esteem,confidence and socialization attitudes in our schools and communities.
