We provide backpacks and school supplies to disadvantaged children so they can have a good start as they go back to school!
The elementary & middle school children who we serve are the poorest of Louisville. With out our help many of these children will go to school without a backpack or school supplies! We work with 50+ non-profits like YMCA, JCPS, Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club, Center For Women & Families, Wayside Christian Mission among others to recruit & select the kids who receive the backpacks.
We raise the funds to buy the supplies, then we put all the supplies in the backpacks for delivery. We have a backpack giveaway ceremony at Union Station-TARC on Thursday August 6th where we give the youth and organizations the Back-Packs!
By providing a youth with a backpack & school supplies they feel pride and are prepared to begin the school year on a decent footing!
