We are helping more people at Hope Foundation Hospital for Women and Children of Bangladesh every day and in turn, the number of people required to stay in the hospital after receiving treatment is rising. Thanks to the wonderful surgeons who volunteer their services, we continue to perform life changing operations which require our patients to spend a few more days with us while recovering. Aside from rest, the most important thing for patients after surgery is to eat plenty and to eat healthily. A post-operative patient who cannot give her body nutritious food increases her risk of infection and difficulty for her incisions (scars) to heal. The majority of our recuperating patients’ families cannot afford to bring their loved ones food. Approximate hospital stays for recovery from some of our common procedures are as follows:
Cleft palate/cleft lip surgery 3-5 days
Complex delivery/Caesarean section 3-5 days
Obstetric fistula repair surgery 7-14 days
Donations for feeding recuperating patients is an ongoing need and of utmost importance. We are so appreciative of your regular contributions to ensure our patients regain their strength and are free of complications. Please continue giving and thank you for caring!
