The AYA Farm will provide a daily meal for 3000 children. Once the project is funded, orphaned and impoverished children will have a sustainable means of nourishment and hope.
Millions of Kenyan children are malnourished. Hungry children have difficulty concentrating in school. Many children miss school because they must work or scavenge for food. HIV-positive children can not take their medication without proper food. Malnourished children are more susceptible to illness. Women and girls prostitute themselves to purchase food for their children and families. The AYA Farm will provide a sustainable source of food and hope to 3000 Kenyan children.
The AYA Farm will serve a network of schools, orphanages, and medical clinics helping orphaned and impoverished children in the slums of Nairobi and rural villages. The harvest from the farm will be distributed to these partner organizations.
Not only will 3000 children have acceess to a daily meal, the organizations helping them will be able to dramatically improve their impact by using money typically spent on food to pay teachers and buy textbooks, medicine, and other necessities.
