Summary
Project provides HIV/AIDS medical care, referrals, counselling, home based care for affected persons and families
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The motivation for this initiative comes from the large number of persons infected with HIV who come for counseling at the organization's center. Many of them require admission into hospital or care at home with compassionate psycho-social support as they face stigma, discrimination and violation of their rights. The project will deal with families and children affected by HIV/AIDS, helping to build their capacities for facing the challenges.
How will this project solve this problem?
Develop a comprehensive continuum of care for persons living with HIV/AIDS. Provide counsel and basic clinical care to improve psychological and physical well being. Provide ncome generation opportunities for those who need urgent financial support.
Potential Long Term Impact
The project will deal with families and children affected by HIV/AIDS, helping to build their capacities for facing the challenges.
Project Message
Sahas does not see HIV/AIDS merely as a health issue but very closely tied up with social and devlopmental issues which must be addressed if we are to meet the challenges posed by HIV/AIDS.
