Uganda Qualifies for the Little League World Series!

Last year was the first time an African little league team qualified for the Little League World Series tournament.  Because the Ugandan team could not acquire their travel visas, they were unable to make the trip to Williamsport. This season will be the first time an African team will play in the Little League World Series.

After a slow start in the qualifying tournament falling to Saudi Arabia, Uganda fought back to defeat Dubai, Qatar, and Kuwait twice, before defeating Saudi Arabia 5-2 in the championship qualifying for the Little League World Series.  Uganda’s first match-up is on Friday against the Latin American team from Panama.  The game will be televised on ESPN at 5 pm.

2012 marks the 5th consecutive year that Pitch In For Baseball has provided equipment assistance to Uganda Little League.  We couldn't be happier or more proud of their accomplishments.

Marc Maxson This is crazy! I don't always visit Kampala, but when I do, I prefer the Tuesday-Thursday Ugandan Ultimate Frisbee League to Softball. But I'm excited for them! And I bet another GG partner in Kampala - The Kids League - would be interested to work with you.
