CURRENT PROGRESS OF THE PROJECT
April, 2013- June, 2013
The Mobile School Screening team continued their mission, finding refractive errors in Schools going children. The schools of this province are closed due to summer vacations, whereas the religions seminaries are open during summer. This time Mobile School Screening team visited various religious seminaries, where small children are given religious training. Due to continues reciting of HOLY QURAN, the small children develop refractive error at a very early stage. Apart from this, Khyber Eye Foundation, Hospital established free eye camps in following areas where eye care facilities are not available.
During the above camp the patients were given medicines and glasses free of cost. Stress was given to the children so that their refractive errors can be found at a very early stage and serious cases can be referred to hospital for further treatment.
During the visit to various schools / religious seminaries, the team screened 6435 children for refractive error, and issued spectacles to 394 students free of cost worth of $ 985 and medicines worth of $ 1545.
Raised 1570 $
Remaining 47930 $
Khyber Eye Foundation hospital is very thankful to its donors who are contributing towards this noble cause. This hospital and our team will continue in eradicating blindness for the poor people of Khyber Pakhunkhwa especially in children.
