Challenge

Kibera has been portrayed through the media as a place of suffering and stagnation, but Kiberan youths are eager to document their world in a way that shows the energy of Kibera and the change that is being made through organizations like Carolina for Kibera (CFK). CFK exists to empower Kiberans to create their own story, and its Kibera Worldwide program is an outlet for such positive storytelling.

Solution

Funding will provide young people better technology and training to more effectively tell stories of positive change in Kibera.

Long-Term Impact

The young adults of Kibera Worldwide will learn valuable technical skills while showcasing stories of hope and change. KWW is the voice of Kibera - showing first hand the challenges of life there and the extraordinary people who are making an impact!
