The Living Earth Institute (LEI) is a non-profit organization formed to provide environmental education on the protection, restoration, and sustainable use of natural resources. LEI provides environmental education by three approaches: supporting sustainable development, conducting environmental assessments, and establishing a system of distance learning.
The Living Earth Institute (LEI) provides education and technical assistance in establishing sustainable development projects in Nepal and Nigeria. LEI is establishing a system of "distance learning" for providing environmental education to a wide audience in Eastern Europe. LEI has provided assessments for citizen groups needing assistance in management of environmental issues in Myanmar, Chile, and Slovakia.

Víctor Durán - Project Coordinator
Víctor Durán is employed by the environmental consulting firm PROSISTEM in Temuco, Chile. Víctor was previously the Regional Director of the Comisión Nacional del Medio Ambiente.
Steve Butkus - Environmental Engineer
Steve Butkus is the founder and president of Living Earth Institute. Steve has also been employed by the Washington Department of Ecology, the National Marine Fisheries Service, and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Steve has a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering and Science from the University of Washington and a Bachelors degree in Aquatic Biology from the University of California.
Sibel Villalobos Volpi - Environmental Scientist
Sibel Villalobos is employed as a Environmental Compliance Officer for the the Comisión Nacional del Medio Ambiente in Porte Montt, Chile.
