Summary
In 2008 Global Giving donors raised over $3,000 dollars for children enrolled in Hope Through Health's innovative treatment programs. In 2009, HTH is excited to continue our relationship with GG.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Raising a child with HIV/AIDS demands many resources. In Togo, West Africa, mobilizing the resources needed to care for HIV positive children is challenging. Often the families and caretakers of children living with HIV/AIDS suffer from extreme poverty. Many can barely meet their basic needs let alone afford the cost of additional medicine and doctors visits for children living with HIV/AIDS.
How will this project solve this problem?
This program will pay for doctors visits and medicine to treat opportunistic infections for children living with HIV/AIDS. It will also provide necessary vitamins and nutritional support.
Potential Long Term Impact
Over 100 HIV positive children will receive comprehensive care ensuring a healthy future thereby reducing the financial burden on their families
Project Message
"I used to live far away. If I was sick I had to go alone to get help. Now everyday HTH brings me medicine so I can be healthy. I am healthy. Not like before."
