Education Scholarships for Child Laborers in India

Lotus Outreach provided scholarship packages and enrollment assistance to these seven children who were previously laboring 14-16 hour days in dangerous brick kilns.
More children who labor in Mewat's brick kilns
Though our previous enrollment drives have been successful, there are hundreds--perhaps thousands--more children across 32 brick kilns in our target district that do not have access to education.

Lack of access to education is particularly acute for girls in Mewat, where less than 2% can read or write--arguably the worst district in terms of female literacy in the entire country.

And demands workers spend 14-16 hours each day in the scorching Indian heat in order to reach the sustenance level.
