Project Personnel

Linda Smith - Founder and Director

Linda believes poverty is not inevitable and the world is as we make it. She founded, built and leads Reading Village with a combination of heart, accountability and real world experience. She believes that, “What we do is important, but not nearly as important as how we do it.” She takes no pay from the organization and focuses on strategic planning, fundraising, and program development.

Daniel Guzman - In-Country Coordinator

Daniel is a Guatemalan man with over 25 years experience in education, library management and literacy program development. He develops, administers and runs our programs in Guatemala, is skilled at working with youth as well as adults and is particularly adept at gaining the support and respect of local communities -- no matter how isolated or closed they may be to outsiders.
