Sarah’s Circle is a refuge for women who are homeless or in need of a safe space. By providing housing assistance, case management, referral services, and life necessities, we encourage women to empower themselves by rebuilding both emotionally and physically; realizing their unique potential.
Sarah's Circle has 5 core programs; supportive services which provide an average of 50 women per day with basic needs, educational & image-building programming specifically focused on issues pertinent to the women we serve, comprehensive case management designed to empower women to become their own advocates, permanent supportive housing services and the supportive services required to retain housing, and clinical services including Trauma Services, Art Therapy and Domestic Violence services.

Katherine Ragnar - Executive Director
Kathy Ragnar received her Bachelor of Science in Economics and M.B.A. in Finance and Economics from DePaul University. She has been the Executive Director of Sarah's Circle since October, 2006. Prior to her position with Sarah's Circle, Ms. Ragnar served as the Executive Director of Infant Welfare in Evanston where she worked to expand programming for women and children residing in shelters.
Jill Spooner - Program Director
Jill Spooner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked in the field of homelessness and poverty for over 10 years. Jill joined the staff of Sarah’s Circle as Program Director September, 2006. Prior to Sarah's Circle she was the Director of Case Management Services for all SRO (Single Room Occupancy) housing for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago based at Lawson House YMCA.
