Report on: Case Study of the trained women in Sewing & Tailoring

 

Summary:

This project is aimed at empowering women in urban slum areas of Borabanda by providing free sewing and tailoring skill development training to make them self sufficiency and self reliant.

 

Background information of the identified Area:

The most pathetic, vulnerable destitute poverty stricken people very much isolated dwell amidst huge buildings of Ranga Reddy District, just adjacent to Hyderabad at a distance of 15kms of State Andhra Pradesh, India.

A target sample of 30 women, identified from Borabanda slum area are given the opportunity to undergo training in sewing.

 

Objective:

To train needy, desperate, poverty stricken women, single parent, widows and women working as domestic servants.

 

RDOET IN ACTION:

RDOET (HAO India) identified and selected a set of new batch of 15 deserving women folk in the nomadic colony of Borabanda to provide training in sewing and tailoring.

 

We are very happy to report that the women with great interest and enthusiasm completed sewing and tailoring training.

We are glad to share one of the success stories of trained women in sewing and tailoring to whom it has become a source of bread earner to support family.

Mrs. Kashim has undergone training in Sewing and Tailoring in our Sewing Centre, after completing her training she got an opportunity to work in one of the Tailor Shop.

Kashim belongs to uttermost poverty stricken from Muslim religion.  They are migrated from place to place. She hails from Orissa, her husband works as a cleaner of Motor – Vehicles and earns meager salary. She has two children, a boy and a girl. 

She is finding it difficulty in maintaining day to day basic needs of the family, paying rent to home and to educate her two children.

At this time of hard struggle, she got a ray of hope by undertaking training in Sewing and Tailoring and successfully completed her training.  She is now able to stitch Salwar Kameez, Punjabi dresses, blouses and children dresses and is happily earning atleast Rs.250/-  per day and petty amounts in one of the Tailor shop.

Kashim is very much grateful to “Global Giving” which helped her getting training in sewing and tailoring. At the same, expressing heart felt  “Thanks” to RDOET (HAO India) and for providing Sewing kit.

I take this privilege in extending deep gratitude to the donors for their valuable support, without which these women would have not availed all these opportunities.

Report on: Skill Development – A Source of Livelihood

 

Summary:

RDOET (HAO India) Identified And Selected A Set Of New Batch Of 15 Deserving Women Folk In The Nomadic Colony Of Borabanda To Provide Training In Sewing And Tailoring.

We are very happy to report that the women with great interest and enthusiasm completed sewing and tailoring training.

We are glad to share one of the success stories of trained women in sewing and tailoring which has become a source of livelihood and to support her family.

Miss Parvathi, took Sewing and TailoringTraining in our Sewing Centre, after completing her training she was provided with a best quality Sewing Machine free of cost alongwith Sewing Kit and Certificate.

Progress after completing training in Sewing and Tailoring:

Parvathy is availing this great opportunity of the sewing machine and as she is only the earning member of the family as her father expired and mother is fully dependent on her.  She is making her earnings by stitching blouses, sarees pico, dresses and gets an amount of INR 1500 P.M. approx.

She alongwith her mother are thankful and grateful to all our valued Donors  of Global giving for their valuable support.

Report on    :    Success Story of women in skill development training

Summary    :    This project is aimed at empowering women in urban slum areas of Borabanda by providing free sewing and tailoring skill development training to make them self-sufficiency and self reliant. 

Background information of the identified Area:

The most pathetic, vulnerable destitute poverty stricken people very much isolated dwell amidst huge buildings of Ranga Reddy District, just adjacent to Hyderabad at a distance of 15 kms of State Andhra Pradesh, India.

A target sample of 30 women, identified from Borabanda slum area are given the opportunity to undergo training in sewing. 

Objective:

  • To train needy, desperate, poverty stricken women, single parent, widows and women working as domestic servants.
  • After completion of the training in sewing, free sewing machine will be provided to one of the women free of cost. And for other women qualified women, sewing machines are provided on subsidy basis.

RDOET IN ACTION:

RDOET (HAO India) identified and selected a set of new batch of 10 deserving women folk in the nomadic colony of Borabanda to provide training in sewing and tailoring.

During the duration of their training the women were well equipped with skill training in sewing and they now became a skilled tailor in sewing.   10 women have successfully completed their training in sewing.  After the assessment of the pathetic status, we have prioritized to give free sewing machine to one of the women named Esther with all the sewing kit and accessories, whose family condition is very deplorable. 

Esther has become a professional tailor and expert in her skills training.

  • Hand stitching works,
  • Picco for the sarees
  • Fall stitching
  • cutting and stitching blouses
  • children’s dresses
  • Punjabi dresses

With the sewing machine provided to her, she started to earn Rs.200/- by stitching one blouse atleast a day.  Her standard of living has brought some shape in her life, supporting her family and saving some of the petty amount for the household.

Now all the ten women have  became self-sufficient and increase their income by stitching clothes for others and for their own family.  The women folk extend their thankfulness to all our valued Donors of Global giving for their valuable support.

Report on Creating opportunity for women in skill development training            

Summary:   

This project is aimed at empowering women in urban slum areas of Borabanda by providing free sewing and tailoring skill development training to make them self-sufficiency and self reliant. 

When women move forward, the family moves, the village moves and the nation Jawaharlal Nehru

Background information of the identified Area:

The most pathetic, vulnerable destitute poverty stricken people very much isolated dwell amidst huge buildings of R R District, just adjacent to Hyderabad at a distance of 15 kms of State Andhra Pradesh, India.

A target sample of 30 women, identified from Borabanda slum area are given the opportunity to undergo training in sewing.

Objective:

  • To train needy, desperate, poverty stricken women, single parent, widows and women working as domestic servants.

RDOET IN ACTION:

RDOET (HAO India) identified and selected a set of new batch of 15 deserving women folk in the nomadic colony of Borabanda to provide training in sewing and tailoring. During these 3 months training the women were taught all the basic handstitching works, and even to operate the machine and all the technical terms. 

We are excited to report that the women with great interest and enthusiasm learning sewing and tailoring.  Within a short span they learnt all the basic handworks stitching and even started operating the sewing machines by stitching small sample dresses. Learnt to do picco for the sarees, fall stitching, etc., They will learn to do the cutting for blouses, children’s dresses, etc., in the following three months and will be completely trained as tailor to live on their own.

The women folk extend their thankfulness to all our valued Donors of Global giving for their valuable support.
