This project will aid rural Nicaraguans to install communal mills in Abisinia and Escambray - covering a total of roughly 2000 people - which will increase their production and economic autonomy.
Located in Jinotega, Nicaragua, AVODEC is surrounded by relatively undeveloped areas with little access to basic infrastructure. This is particularly true in the area of water services such as wells and potable water systems that can service rural areas. AVODEC works on a non-profit model in conjunction with the communities to improve their quality of life through projects that aim to close these service gaps.
Installing communal mills in rural communities will decrease the costs associated with securing necessary food staples and in bringing grain to market, thus effectively acting to increase the income of community members.
This project will increase the incomes and capital access for communities covering roughly 2000 people.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
