Back in 2010, with your kind support, LIN was able to raise over $16.000 on the GlobalGiving website. This money funded many programs and empowered over 100 of Vietnam's local not-for-profit organizations (NPOs). Their staff attended free seminars. They took part in contests. They learned how to recruit and manage volunteers and how to find and collaborate with donors. They learned how to make people in their communities care and come together to solve social problems. All this new knowledge helped them to expand and improve their work. As a result, they can provide better support to over 2.000 disadvantaged people in the community. But most importantly: this knowledge will stay with local people and contribute to Vietnam's growth from within, bringing to life LIN's motto: Helping local people meet local needs. Like in the proverb, LIN does not give out fish, but rather teaches local people how to fish for themselves!
Many of you have been following LIN's progress ever since, You have attended our community events, you have read our newsletter, and you have supported our work. Many of you are now LIN's dear friends. Our success is your success. Between the two New Years - Western and Eastern - we are happy to celebrate with you LIN's highlights from 2012!
We would like to invite you to share some of your Holiday warmth by supporting LIN's current Global Giving project, the New Year Lights Campaign: Build a Home for Vietnam NPOs. The new Home will be the LIN Community Resource Center for local NPOs. It will have a space for free seminars and consultations for NPO staff, a library, a space for startup local NPOs, a skilled volunteer center, and a venue for LIN's community events - all in one cozy home that you will help us build for our NPO family.
From all of us at LIN, thank you.
May your home be filled with warmth this holiday season!

Combined with other sources of funding, this project raised enough money to fund the outlined activities and is no longer accepting donations.
