Summary

Vietnam nonprofits are understaffed, underfunded & relatively new, limiting their ability to expand/improve core programs & services. LIN provides much needed training, grants, volunteers & resources.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

While the growth story for Vietnam remains compelling, not all segments of the population are reaping the benefits as the gap between rich and poor is rising. Local nonprofits are trying to address some of these inequalities; however, they are typically understaffed and/or underfunded, which makes it difficult to streamline and/or expand their programs so that they can do more to improve the quality of life & provide greater access to opportunities for all members in our communities.

How will this project solve this problem?

LIN helps NPOs to access technical, financial & other community resources so that they may improve/expand their programs & service offerings. We provide one-on-one consultations, management & targeted trainings, grants & skilled volunteer matching.

Potential Long Term Impact

Self-sufficient communities where all individuals can access opportunities & benefits of development. In 2010, at least 275 NPO staff will participate in a training program, 40 will receive grants, 30 will be matched with volunteers and more.

Project Message

I would like to volunteer to help LIN to respond to the support that LIN has given to [our] project even though I know that my skills cannot compare with the support that LIN has provided to us.
