Harambee Stars

By a female, 46-60 years old , in Nairobi, Kenya
Map of HARAMBEE STARS Harambee stars was once a very strong team during 90's even though early this millennium and late 90's it started performing poorly. Its performance was very poor and in the process for trying to revive our national soccer team Harambee stars, very many coaches were given the task both from home and abroad but all was in vain. In around mid this decade of 2001 and 2010, Kimanzi was appointed coach of the team and for once their was hope of the team reviving because it started winning matches and even improved in FIFA rankings. Whoever, as it is usually in Africa, Africans believe in foreign coaches and so in an attempt to even keep the spirits of the team high, the prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga brought in a certain coach from Germany. Kenyans thought all will be well but things turned upside down when the team again started to perform very poorly up to when the team again started to perform very poorly up to today and all we blame is the prime minister for sacking Kimanzi and bringing the foreign coach. Lift Up Your Brother

By a female, 22-30 years old, in Kakamega, Kenya
Map of lift up your brother The world and kenya in particular has succumb to the fact that many people live below one american dollar which translates to not over one hundred(100/) kenyan shilings.Trying to devide these into daily basic needs/wants becomes quite a huge problem to the parents or the guardian.Unemployment has lead to these sectors failingb to cop up hence the high rate of crime in the urban centres where most youth run insearch of winning their daily bread. Due to these fact people from my village especially those who provide philanthropically decided to donate and or bring together financial resources to boost their brothers who were lying low They further identified a number of youth whom they shared ideas and decided to start up a different business. They are economically well off today and live happily with food shelter and clothing. By a female, 16-21 years old, in Nairobi, Kenya
Map of THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE OUR COMMUNITIES HEALTH WISE, EDUCATION WISE, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC WISE. Voluntary medical circumcision has played a big role in the Kibera community. This is the only organization that has convinced the male people to get circumcised. It is a hard task to convince especially the Luo youth to get circumcised because some of them believe that in the end of times,God will ask them where they took their parts of their body, which is the foreskin. Atleast it has helped men health wise. They tell us the advantage of performing it and they have performed it free of charge so that we can reduce the Hiv/Aids in our community. African health community program is the other organization that has helped our community so much.It has realized how much our youth learned yet do not have jobs.AHCP has been helping the learned youth who have a passion in starting the business by teaching the ways of handling a business. Afterward, they give you a certificate which can help you during your business time. Before graduation they introduce you to those who can help you with fund or even help you get your fund for starting your business.
