Dear Supporters,
We are grateful for your support through another successful month at Kranti. There are so many exciting things going on that we had to narrow down our update!
Trina was recently selected to participate in the Commonwealth Local Government Professional Forum, to be held in Cardiff, from the 13-19 of March 2011, where she will have the opportunity to converse with government representatives of the Commonwealth nations and negotiate a partnership with the government. This will give Kranti recognition and credibility on a national level by the Indian government, as well as on an international level by the leaders of all the commonwealth nations.
Two of our Revolutionaries have been chosen to attend the Nilgiris Landscape Restoration Drive, organized by the British Council, from 21-27 February. Along with trekking and camping, they will learn about climate change in the Nilgiri mountains in Southern India and how we can adapt to it and mitigate its effects.
On the home front, all the Revolutionaries attended the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival where they saw art in various mediums, like 3D installations, paintings, photographic slideshows, sculptures, on social issues such as poverty, hunger, exploitation, critiques of capitalism, and numerous other amazing pieces. The Revolutionaries not only gained exposure to these subjects but were also inspired to create their own art work on societal problems they have experienced.
Kranti became a green household this month! We our composting all of our biodegradable waste in our new clay composter, recycling our glass, and are also a plastic-free zone. Since we couldn’t include it all here, please either visit our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter for more regular updates. Thank you for all of your generous support and all of the things you’ve helped the Revolutionaries experience and accomplish!
Warm regards,
Kranti
