Blanca Figueroa - President of consejo directivo
I was part of a feminist group and I took part in their meetings for a while. In 1974 I received a Ford Foundation scholarship to conduct a study about domestic workers. It was the beginning of a lifelong commitment with them. Now that I have passed the 60 years, in the next few years I hope I can still dedicate myself to work with women and girls, because that's what makes me happier.
Sofía Mauricio - Coordinator La Casa de Panchita
My parent were peasants. When I was 7 I began doing domestic work and I came to Lima when I was 12. I got acquainted with people from the Catholic Laborers Youth and developed my leadership. In 1990 I studied radio journalism but I could not finish the studies because I did not have money to pay for the school. In September of 1998 we inaugurated La Casa de Panchita and I am the coordinator there.
