Prossy is a 44 years old woman who takes care of her four children. Prossy lost her spouse of HIV/AIDS in 2006 and left her with a breast feeding child who is now seven years. Rukyamuzi Posion is the oldest of the siblings and is now 15 years old. She is able to help her mother with the household activities because the lady is often sick due to dehydration and malnourishment and moreover on ARVs without enough food. The other children are 13, 9 and the youngest is 7 years old now. All the children do not go to school but they try to work for what to eat through digging on different plantations of the people on the village in order to keep their mother’s live and them too.
RACOBAO identified this family with the help of our community Based Trainee when their living arrangements were really bad. They could only sustain on one meal a day whereas the mother is bed ridden and she only encourages herself to walk. They were given two goats which we think will manipulate as soon as possible in order to sustain their necessities like food, the distance the mother takes to collect her ARVs at least she be able to board a vehicle other than footing which weakens her life more.
RACOBA extends its gratitude thanks to all GlobalGiving fundraisers for the work they are doing to rescue the lives of these needy people.
