Map of ABANDONED ON THE STREETS I am called David ,i do not even know the name of my father.My coming to the streets in Kakamega town was by the act of my mother.She had tried to support me as a single mother and failed to take it any further.She abandoned me in town and at 6 years another good Samaritan, a business lady picked me.She stayed with me since 2007 trying to provide my basic needs.She opened a small income generation for me and after one year decided to buy a bodaboda bicycle for me to carry o such transportation service as i make some income.I believe very soon i will be able to get enough funds to buy a motor bile (together with a small loan)and this will take me to the next level. Nakivali Refugee settlement was formed to give assistance to these refugees.At Nakivali a special land was set apart to resettle these people. special gardens have been allocated to these people to grow animal crops to sustain their families. A big population is found at Nakivali and these people are kept here until their homelands politically stable. Read more.

controlling drugs and drug abuse Drug and drug abuse, alcohol has prompted youths into destroying their future.Most of them who do take this practices drop out of school.They are no longer able to concentrate in classes, they tend to think slowly and this makes them live up to no good. WEWASAFO, an NGO, over some two years ago embarked on educating the youths about this and hence save them from destroying their future. They visited high schools, primary schools and even higher learning institutions and provided information about this vices which came out to be of great help to the youth.Also the youth who were not in school were taught those who were practically were adviced to stop.For sure it was a huge boost in ensuring that a moral sensitive generation is bought up.
