Iona Proebst has a degree in Social Anthropology, a post graduate diploma in International Development Studies and a background and passion for humanitarian work and community development. Moved by the adversity, compassion and smiling faces of the children on the Thai-Burma border, Iona Proebst returned to New Zealand in 2006 to found The Branch Foundation with the focus of sustainable community.
Over the last few years, Tom's involvement in humanitarian issues in South-East Asia has grown. Having always had a keen interest in other cultures and the belief that everyone deserves access to basic human rights, Tom left London to pursue working in the area of aid and development in the region.
Brigitte is currently working part-time for The Branch Foundation helping coordinating activities in New Zealand. She is also a counsellor and relationship Therapist in Auckland and has a deep interest and concern for all humanitarian issues.
Combined with other sources of funding, this project raised enough money to fund the outlined activities and is no longer accepting donations.
