HEAT Oregon, celebrating more than 25 years as an independent 501 (c )(3) nonprofit serving low-income residents of Oregon with emergency energy assistance including electricity, gas, oil or other forms of heating resources.
More than 435,000 Oregon families are at risk of having to choose between heating their homes or paying for basic necessities like food, medicine or shelter. Current funding levels for all energy assistance programs in the state can only serve about one in four households that qualify for help. In order to ensure that families in need gain assistance, HEAT Oregon raises funds under the philosophy of "neighbor helping neighbor;" funds raised in a community remain in that community.
We hope to address as many of the families and individuals who need emergency energy assistance through our project. While we believe we cannot help everyone, with your donations we can move to help many more.
We will be able to help almost 147,000 individuals, allowing them to have warm, well-lit and safe homes.
