Impoverished women and children will have good nutritious meals and help reduce malnutrition in the community. Pregnant women will also deliver healthy babies.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Many children and women in Santrokofi community in Ghana are malnourished due to lack of their inability to afford nutritious meals. The common grown foodstuffs are starchy foods like cassava, yams and plantains with little nutrients and vitamins which the inhabitants are forced to consume in its raw state due to lack of money to buy other nutritious foodstuffs. As a result many women and children fall sick and visit the hospital frequently and sometimes resulting to death.

How will this project solve this problem?

This project will established a small moringa plantation to process moringa powder that would be distributed at the local clinic. The project will also provide moringa seedling to families to plant on their own for family use.

Potential Long Term Impact

To stabilize the the cultivation, processing and consumption of moringa as a self renewable food source to curb the malnutrition affecting women and children in the Santrokofi community of Ghana.
