Thanks to all the support we've received in 2010 this project has been fully funded and could make happen all the activities as planned. During 2011 we will renew the objectives and keep on growing on more ambitious actions with the children and the community, so stay tuned!
Thanks everyone for making this happen!
Incredible progress in this project, our 35 children has been learning a lot about new media and using them to connect with the world. They have created their own blog that will be public soon, nowadays they are practicing with the functionality and creating day to day content. Also they have been using their brand new digital camaras to tell and show stories of their own reality, which is great. The program has the highest attendance of the whole organization! It is really reducing the digital gap and help children to learn in a different way.
Keep on supporting us and thanks a lot!
The last 3 months has been very exciting for the children and the teachers themselves. The kids made incredible progress, created their own email accounts and started to connect with the world, sending emails to everyone they know. The attendance to the program is the highest of the whole organization, confirming that is really motivating and everyone is interested in being part of it. Our two new teachers have been working with different platforms and tools (games, documentaries, blogs, etc) to tackle different issues of the children's reality, like violence and literacy problems.
We've also added to the program to new 'toys'. Two digital cameras that the kids are bringing to their own place for couple of days and they are encouraged to tell their stories and reality to the public. This is relatevely new and we will see the results soon, but the enthusiasm has been overwhelming.
Thanks to all the supporters of this project, keep on walking next to us!
After the summer holidays in Argentina, the children came back to our activities beggining or March. The Elearning project has been the one with the most attendance of all our programs, and the kids are very motivated to start doing new things this year. We have two new teachers in the program that are experts in new media and education, and they are planning to have gaming activities, teaching the kids to write blogs so they can tell about their life, etc. The use of technology is without doubt an incredible vehicle to connect with the children and we are profiting from it.
We thank all the supporters we had so far, the help is really making a difference in the children's life. But of course all the help we can get to spread our message and get more supporters is more than welcome. We believe that social change is only happening when we all work together and its a result of collective construction and collaboration, and since Argentina is not a 'popular' country in terms of receiving help from big NGO's, companies or funds, so we depend on loyal private donors that support us. Let's keep on building a better future for these children together then!
All the best and thanks again
