The sponsorship of orphans to school has been a slow one this year. The response from donors has been on the low. We have not even gotten half our target yet-Our target is to get 500 orphans and vulnerable children in shendam to school. The killings in Jos-Plateau Nigeria has turned many families to the street. Children homeless and out of school-the list is endless. We believe that these children deserve education-it's their right! We have 20 children been sponsored to school, we hope that some would join next term. Reports reaching us says that they are doing well and coping in their various classes. We want to say a big thanks to all our donors, and please do not relent in your giving, for these children are our future.
An additional 12 OVC has been added to the sponsorship scheme. Stephanie Ya'amiap in Primary 1, Emmanuel Kachallom in Primary 1, Clement Longdam in JS1, Matui Ezekiel in JS1, Maureen Kevin in JS1, Yusuf Damina in JS3, Stephen Hoomswo in JS2, Muknaan Anthony in SS1, Linus Machiel in SS1, Rotkangmwa Golime in SS1, Nukup Peter in JS1 and Mercy Tuamyen in SS2. Once again, a big thank you to all who gave to this course. As you can see, we are still numbers away from our target which is to give 500 orphans and vulnerable children in rural Shendam an opportunity to education. We solicit your kind donations to be able to achieve this.
Marian Hope Empowerment Initiative since inception has been giving educational sponsorship to orphans and vulnerable children from different parts of the country. Our organization defines orphans and vulnerable children as people within the age of 0-17 years old that are of schooling age who may have lost either both parents or a parent. These children are sponsored at government owned schools to cut cost and as part of our monitoring and evaluation strategy, a copy of their termly reports is sent to the organization.
We have over 50 OVC in different government schools in Jos-Platuea, Zaria and the FCT. We are working towards sponsoring an additional 500 OVC in Shendam and its environs to primary and secondary schools in the next academic session.
Already, we have a list of children who are awaiting sponsorship. Contacts are been made with various Government schools to ensure that by the next academic session, a space will beavailable for them..
We want to say a big thank u to all who gave to this cause. Thanks for giving a child a hope and a future.
