Summary
This project focuses on rebuilding lives through education by providing high quality primary education to 100 less-privileged children in the earthquake affected areas of Northern Pakistan.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
October 2005 earthquake wrought havoc in the lives of millions of inhabitants of Northern Pakistan. Almost all the schools in the worst hit areas were destroyed. TCF is building seismically designed schools in these areas, which will create arenas of hope and provide a safe haven for the vulnerable and poor children in these areas. This project will educate 100 less-
privileged children in Mansehra district at TCF purpose built primary schools.
How will this project solve this problem?
TCF will use the funds, which will cover the cost of students’ textbooks, uniforms, school supplies, teachers’ recruitment/training, curriculum planning and evaluation, to pay for 1 year's school fees for 100 most disadvantaged children in the area.
Potential Long Term Impact
The project will educate 100 less-privileged children in the earthquake affected areas of Pakistan, giving them hope and the will to move beyond the tragedy they have faced and break free of the vicious circle of poverty.
