Summary
While children enjoy the songs and rhymes that Learning While Playing uses to teach them about numbers and letters, parents learn the importance of developmental support for their child's future.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The radio broadcasts of Learning While Playing inspire parents and communities to create positive environments for children under the age of 6. A contribution to this project will deliver a satellite radio receiver to a community that has only irregular access to radio and other sources of information. Furthermore, your support trains parents and creates radio programs that advocate early childhood development awareness that helps Nepalese youth make the most of every learning opportunity.
How will this project solve this problem?
When learning resembles playing with interactive riddles and rhymes, children are more likely to discover an early enthusiasm for education. Episodes also involve parents by discussing topics such as safe motherhood, nutrition and immunization.
Potential Long Term Impact
This program combines education with entertainment in an effective manner to reach children and their caregivers with information that will enrich children’s lives, promote a healthy development and increase their likelihood of thriving in school.
Project Message
“We realize that it is not enough that we sit them down in a small room and teach them their alphabet.”
