It was a piping, hot day and our too small school building was just not fit to house 36 little 2-4.5 year olds. So we took a thick plastic sheet and some liquid soap, a bucket of water and found an ideal patch of lawn that was perfect for a water slide......we had very happy, delightful and cool little children who all happily went off, a half an hour later to take part in our painting activity for the day.
Here we had thick yellow paint and all kinds of kitchen utensils and the aim was to explore what gestures were brought about moving the tools in different ways. For children this provides an opportunity to explore the medium and discover the results of possible movements.
Our Valentines Day was filled with sticky hands, sweet red lollies and juicy watermelon. Little hands collaged paper hearts with all different textures of reds and pinks and were completely bowled over when they discovered they could make their own pink paint!
So much to learn and discover,
