This project will provide a home for twelve disadvantaged and vulnerable young girls and continue to provide their educational needs for a year.
Uganda, with the highest HIV/AIDS rates in Africa has witnessed an increase in the number of orphans and vulnerable children. The situation is worse in rural areas and girl children are especailly at risk. The beneficiaries of this project are girls between the ages of 5 and 18.
The project will try to meet these young girls social and educational needs: a home, access to education, knowledge about self hygiene and family support for those who have lost their parents and loved ones to HIV/AIDS.
The beneficiaries stand a chance to attain formal education as a base on which to build skills that will be helpful in their futures. It is also our hope that with our support, the girls will remain in school longer, thus avoiding early marriage and the associated risks.
Thank you for giving hope to the young girls because girls chances of excelling in life become be very limited if they drop out of school at an early age.
