Say Cheese

Say Cheese
Girl student at Nursery School takes a break from learning to smile for the camera. Students enjoy their days at the school and demand for entrance into the school remains extremely high. The school has approximately 85 spots, divided into three classes. Selection involves face-to-face interviews with parents and visits to the children's family to confirm the circumstances of the family.

Walking Home through Trash

Walking Home through Trash
Here, two Nursery School children are walking home through the slums. Kibera is home to 1 million people. The lack of basic infrastructure, like electricity, running water, and sewage systems cause a major health problem for residents. Because there is no public garbage collection, Kibera is notorious for its trash problem, the constant burning of which is detrimental to the health of the population.
