Batonga’s aim is to support secondary school and higher education for girls in Cameroon. We are providing the tools girls need to continue on with their education and reach their full potential.
In Cameroon Batonga is supporting 20 girls in secondary school and 1 girl in university. All of the girls are either AIDS orphans or from families affected by AIDS. Batonga is supporting these girls until they graduate. Education packages for this program include tuition, uniform, school supplies, mentoring activities and community awareness programs.
Batonga provides girls with the tools they need to succeed in school and life. Mentors provide guidance on reproductive health, personal hygiene and life skills in order to prepare the girls for more healthy, productive lives.
When a woman is educated, it changes not only her life but those of her children and her family. Educating women translates to higher economic productivity, reduced child mortality, and improved family nutrition and health.
