The mission of Free the Kids is to provide financial support and counsel for Pwoje Espwa Sud (PES), a home for 600 orphaned and vulnerable children in SW Haiti, a country where the average adult has 2.8 years of schooling, compulsory education is only 6 years, only 52.9% of the total population is literate and 74% of primary school girls are out of school. PES operates six schools from K-12 plus vocational for 2,100 students. 98% of our children are literate.

How will this project solve this problem?
The education program's mission is to promote academic excellence, improve the achievement of students, enhance educational opportunities and equity for all children and improve the quality of teaching and learning by providing leadership, technical assistance and financial support.
Potential Long Term Impact
Haitian teachers provide basic classroom instruction. Some students get scholarships to attend other specialized schools.
