Jennifer Weston - US Liason, Communications, Volunteer

Jennifer Weston spent May of 2008 on the Buduburam Refugee Settlement where she met Karrus Hayes and the staff and children of The Carolyn Miller School. She was deeply inspired by the work being done and the plans for rebuilding upon their return to Liberia. In December '08 Jennifer formed a nonprofit public benefit corporation to allow for US donations to be made securely to benefit the school.

Honey Mamabolo - Non Executive Director and Project Manager

Honey Mamabolo, a chemical engineer by training and Director (Operations) of Energy Solutions Africa an energy consulting firm in South Africa, is the Non-Executive Director of VAAFD and part of the founding members of VAAFD. Honey has been involved with VAAFD since 2007, assisting in the development of governance and financial control systems.

Laura Quaynor - Volunteer

Laura Quaynor is a PhD student in Educational Studies at Emory University. She has taught and tutored refugee children in the United States for over 5 years, and is currently studying civic education for students in post-conflict settings. Laura has spent several months volunteering in Ghana & Liberia at The Carolyn Miller School in 2008 and 2009. She lives in Atlanta, GA with her husband Sam.
