Sketch Performance for Graduation Party 2013
Sketch Performance for Graduation Party 2013

It had been an exciting past 3 months with activities as follows:

Graduation Party 2013 on November 2013

Wings Melaka organized a Graduation Party for students who are graduating from the EIP & SAP programmes. The event was held on 27th November 2013 in our premises. A total of 79 people (ie parents/relatives/children) and 9 staff attended the graduation party.

It was a fun-filled event with performances by students and trainees from all 3 programmes i.e EIP, SAP and YAP. There was also a certificate presentation to our graduating students (3 from EIP and 4 from SAP) by our Chairman, Mr Chee Kong Chi and a cake cutting ceremony.

Workshop with Robert Deller in December 2014

7 of Wings Melaka staff attended a one day workshop organized by SPICES in EFC Wangsa Maju on 4th December 2013. The workshop is conducted by Mr Robert Deller, a child psychologist from UK on the topic of “Sexuality”. It was also attended by staff from other centres namely SPICES, OrKids, Early Steps and Bridges EIP.

It was a great time of learning and sharing with each other on how to teach children with learning difficulties about their own sexuality i.e boy/girl, their differences, puberty etc. We also shared and discussed about past situations that we faced and on how we managed them or could have managed them.

Inventory takes on December 2013

As the students and trainees are on a one month break in December, the staff preps up for the upcoming New Year. They did inventory takes for the Toy & Resource Centre as well as preparing teaching materials for the students and trainees for 2014.

Start of a New Year on January 2014

It was back to school for the students and trainees after a month’s holiday. We started the year with 15 students in EIP, 6 students in SAP and 7 trainees in YAP.

We are thankful for your generous contributions and support as they have helped us spurn the work forward. As we start a new year, we hope that we could reach out and provide support to more families with special needs children and young adults.
